Reflexology is a holistic therapy that stimulates reflex points or nerve endings (dermatomes) on the feet, hands, face, and ears, which correspond to various glands, organs, and body systems. Applying massage and various pressure techniques on these areas, sends signals to the brain and spine, triggering responses that promote balance, relaxation, and overall well-being.

Whilst reflexology feels very relaxing like a massage, its effects run much deeper. Unlike massage, which targets muscles and tendons, reflexology works with the nervous system, which allows for a profoundly deeper reset, activating and strengthening the body’s innate healing capacities.

Whilst reflexology is most commonly known on the feet,  working other areas of the body is highly effective, and will be tailored specifically to you, your personal preferences as well as health and wellness goals. It is my passion to help you feel your best!

Foot Reflexology

Foot reflexology is the foundational modality in the reflexology field, offering unique benefits due to the feet's extensive network of over 15,000 nerve endings. This sensitivity allows practitioners to target specific reflex points, providing a holistic approach to health that complements other reflexology methods. By stimulating these points, foot reflexology interrupts stress patterns, resets tension levels, and activates the parasympathetic nervous system (also called rest and digest), promoting emotional and physical balance. This powerful technique is highly beneficial as a complementary therapy for various health issues, including anxiety, fatigue, and pain management. Amongst many other benefits, it enhances blood flow, aids digestion, and improves sleep quality by releasing natural pain-relievers like endorphins. As a non-invasive and drug-free approach, foot reflexology is an attractive option for those seeking to enhance their overall well-being or as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical treatment. Additionally, the treatment itself is deeply enjoyable, much like a massage, sending waves of relaxation throughout the body, making it a truly rejuvenating experience.

Hand Reflexology

Hand reflexology provides a distinct set of benefits due to the hands having a large representation in the brain’s sensory and motor cortex, hand reflexology can influence many bodily functions effectively.

Ideal for individuals who engage in repetitive tasks or suffer from hand strain and overuse injuries, this technique provides relief from various hand-related ailments such as joint stiffness, carpal tunnel syndrome, and shoulder tension, while also reducing general fatigue. Furthermore, hand reflexology addresses upper body issues including headaches and respiratory conditions, enhancing its value as a complementary treatment to other reflexology methods.

Additionally, hand reflexology improves fine motor skills and coordination, and aids in the rehabilitation of strokes or neurological conditions that affect hand function. With the hands being more delicate than the feet, this modality is particularly suitable for those who seek a gentler approach, yet it allows practitioners to effectively target the finer skin of the hands for deeper therapeutic effects

Facial Reflexology

Facial reflexology is a holistic treatment that integrates diverse techniques to enhance overall well-being and improve skin appearance. By stimulating specific reflex points on the face, it is believed to connect with the body's internal organs and neuro-biological systems, promoting a balanced state of health.

Facial reflexology shares commonalities with lymphatic drainage massage in its use of gentle facial tissue manipulation, which can enhance circulation and reduce puffiness, thereby indirectly supporting lymphatic function. However, facial reflexology primarily focuses on stimulating reflex points for therapeutic benefits, whereas lymphatic drainage is specifically designed to optimize lymphatic flow and reduce swelling.

Through its unique approach, facial reflexology can lead to improved circulation, enhanced detoxification, and a more radiant complexion. By addressing both therapeutic and aesthetic needs simultaneously, this treatment offers a comprehensive solution for those seeking to rejuvenate their skin and promote overall well-being.

Ear Reflexology

Ear reflexology is a non-invasive technique that utilizes manual pressure and, on occasion, a small, non-intrusive probe to stimulate over 90 reflex points on the ear. These points, recognized by the World Health Organization in 1990, correspond to various organs and body systems, making the ear an effective medium for pain relief and relaxation. By triggering the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, ear reflexology induces a calming effect on the nervous system. This helps manage chronic pain, stress, and anxiety, while also supporting recovery from addiction by stimulating points that aid in managing cravings. The treatment is highly relaxing, offering a holistic approach to well-being

Ayurvedic Head Massage (coming soon)

Indulge in a luxurious warm oil massage that envelops the face, ears, scalp, chest, neck, and shoulders. This comprehensive upper body treatment not only offers a spa-like escape,  but also delivers profound therapeutic benefits. Many  vital energy points and lymphatic pathways culminate in the neck and head region, and are prone to stress and tension buildup, which can impede the body's natural energy flow. The deep massage of these critical areas facilitates the release of blockages, enhances lymphatic circulation, and revitalizes your body’s inherent vitality.

The scalp massage is particularly beneficial, stimulating blood flow to promote healthy hair growth, and potentially delay graying, while also enhancing oxygenation of the brain. Benefits can include improved sleep quality, enhanced mental clarity and improved mood. This treatment is  also renowned for its ability to alleviate stress and tension, and can effectively relieve headaches, migraines, and back pain by releasing tension in the neck and shoulders.

The use of hot towels and nourishing herb-infused oils adds an extra layer of relaxation, melting away stress and leaving you feeling refreshed. This treatment is especially beneficial for dry Alberta winter skin and hair, providing much-needed moisturization. The session lasts one hour, and for those who wish to include a deep massage of the arms and hands, a one-and-a-half-hour session is available. Please note that this treatment can also be performed with non-herbal oils for those sensitive to scents.
